On March 23 and 24, 2018, as one of "Lancang-Mekong Week" series activities, the Inspection of Ecological Demonstration Projects for the Lancang-Mekong Round-table Dialogue on Water Environment Treatment was launched in Yunnan province. The Lancang-Mekong Environmental Cooperation Center (LMEC) organized officials from environmental protection authorities in Lancang-Mekong countries and representatives from international organizations, research institutions and environmental technology enterprises to successively visit the Chengjiang County East Bank Water Plant, the Chengjiang County Sewage Plant, the Chengjiang County No.1 Middle School Water Plant and other water supply and drainage integration projects in Chengjiang county, Yuxi city. They also paid a visit to the Baitupo village, a rural garbage classification and resource utilization demonstration site, with the aim of learning latest technology and countermeasures for the comprehensive treatment of the environment and the improvement of the rural living environment. Guangxi Bossco Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd, a partner of the LMEC, provided support for the demonstration project inspection. Representatives also surveyed the Laoyu River Wetland management project and learnt about new measures for the treatment of the Dian Lake.

The Second Lancang-Mekong Cooperation (LMC) Leaders' Meeting announced the week between March 19 and 25, 2008 will be the first Lancang-Mekong Week under the LMC mechanism. The LMEC has actively responded to this initiative, and has organized the Lancang-Mekong Round-table Dialogue on Water Environment Treatment series activities. The ecological demonstration project inspection is one of the Round-table Dialogue series activities.

So far, there is no organic refuse recycling disposal technology in Cambodia, but it only takes Chinese enterprise Bossco two weeks to convert garbage into organic fertilizers that can be used for agriculture through recycling technology. If my country can apply this technology, it can help local residents reduce garbage and make the environment cleaner.

The water treatment and solid waste disposal technology of Chinese environmental protection enterprises can provide effective guarantee for the surrounding environmental protection. However, the surrounding area of the Tonle Sap Lake in Cambodia lacks the solid waste management system, and residents directly dump rubbish into the lake, so I hope Chinese enterprises can participate in the environmental treatment work in my country in future.

I am deeply impressed by these ecological environmental protection projects, so I will actively suggest local places learn experience of Chinese projects when I return to Yangon, the capital of Myanmar. Meanwhile, Chinese enterprises and experts are welcomed to my country to share project experience and popularize technology.
